Hello Team,
I would like to share feedback regarding the Business Rules (DMN) versioning functionality in UiPath Orchestrator.
Currently, when a new version of a DMN file is uploaded, previous versions are retained in the Version History and can be downloaded. However, there are some limitations that make version management difficult during development and testing.
Current Limitations
-
No Rollback Option
-
If we want to revert to a previous version, the only option is to:
- Download the older version
- Upload it again
-
This results in creating a new version number, even though we are simply restoring an earlier version.
-
-
No Option to Delete Specific Versions
- Inactive or obsolete versions cannot be deleted.
- During development and testing, multiple iterations are common, which can quickly clutter the version history.
Suggested Improvements
It would be helpful if the following capabilities could be added:
-
Rollback / Restore Version
- Ability to select a previous version from the version history and restore it as the active version without uploading it again.
- This would prevent unnecessary version increments.
-
Delete Specific Versions
- Option to remove inactive or unwanted versions from the version history.
- This would help maintain a clean and manageable version list.
Benefits
- Cleaner version management during development and testing.
- Avoid unnecessary version bumps when reverting to a known stable version.
- Better governance of business rule changes.
- Improved usability of the Business Rules feature.
This enhancement would significantly improve the usability of DMN-based business rule management in Orchestrator.
Best regards,
Karthik
