Recommended UiPath.UiAutomation.Activities package version for my browser

Good morning.

I am developing on Windows 10 using StudioX 2024.10.14 LTS.

After updating the packages yesterday to the versions listed below, I was no longer able to operate a certain internal website using NApplicationCard. I was able to operate another internal website, so I suspect there may be a compatibility issue between the current package versions and that particular internal website. If you have any recommended package version combinations, please let me know.

Previous package versions
UI Automation: v22.4.7
System: v24.3.1
Excel: v2.12.3

Current package versions
UI Automation: v25.10.33
System: v24.10.8
Excel: v2.24.4

Check if this is applicable for you in case you have been using an Edge/Chrome browser recently upgraded to 149.x.x

Hi @marian.platonov

I checked the referenced link.

The wording is a bit unclear, but if the following error messages are not displayed, is it correct to assume that this does not apply (i.e., it’s not relevant to my case)?

Failed to start browser. Extension native host is running, but new opened tab not found.

Cannot communicate with browser

You are assuming correctly.

What error are you facing exactly?
Did you try all input types, and none are giving good results?

Hi @marian.platonov

I managed to resolve the issue on my own.
It turned out that the problem wasn’t related to the package version. After uninstalling the UiPath extension for Edge and reinstalling it, the workflow started working again.
As you may be aware, with UiPath it’s quite common that the root cause ends up being something different from what we originally expected.

By the way, when upgrading the UI Automation package, under what circumstances is it necessary to uninstall and reinstall the UiPath browser extension?

Glad to hear that your issue got resolved.

Some of the customers installed the extension offline, using an old extension version, or manually from a file that has a different version than their robot out-of-the-box extension. In that case, the extension may not work as expected by playing with UiPath.UiAutomation.Activities versions, as maybe the already installed extension is not compatible. A reinstallation of the extension may be needed.

In cases where the browser extension is corrupted or missing after updating group policies or due to other reasons.
