# Read a variable from notepad

Hello, you can write a text accompanied by a variable in notepad, and when the UiPath reads the notepad with the activity “read text file” that variable is changed to the designated value. :pensando:

Could you please share your workflow? Or maybe post the screenshot of type into activity  
also see if you have written “Hello”+variable1 in the type into!

Hey @Jhunior

I hope you have written the text correctly as **“Hello” + variable1** and not **“Hello variable1”**!
