Queue Trigger within Orchestrator to stop at a specific time

Good day,

I’m new to UiPath / RPA.
I have a question concerning Queue Triggers, I have created a trigger to launch an unattended BOT every 30 minutes, 24/7/365.

I need to stop the BOT from running on Monday between 6am and 7am, due to the server rebooting.

Once it has booted up, the BOT should continue running until the following Monday.

I have checked out cron expressions, if conditions etc, but no luck.
The features provided by orchestrator only allow for a given day, but not a specific time on that specific day. (I might be missing something)

I have checked on Cron.Tab and i’m receiving a Syntax 1600 error when trying to input it into orchestrator.

Your assistance will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hi

This website help us in bulding CRON EXPRESSION:

For your case, you need more than one trigger to treat this exception (6AM - 7AM on Mondays) because you don’t have a regular recurrence.

Trigger based in Queue triggered always new item is added. So, if you disable it, you need enable it again later.

Trigger based in time to consume Queue Item run ones and finish when no have more items to proceed (as Queue Triggered does) in regular cenario.

So, you need make analysis in your process to figure out if more than one trigger may causes problem.

One alternative for this is make some changes in your dispatcher (one that add items into Queue) to prevent add items in around time (6PM - 7PM)

@rikulsilva

Thank you for the advice. Setup the dispatcher to run as per usual, trigger is set to run every 30 minutes but insert an if statement to check the condition if it is Monday and between the time frame of 6am to 7am.

DateTime.Now.ToString(“dddd”) = “Monday”
Which provides me the day eg: Monday and time eg: 06:00 (24 hour format)

If activity, condition to validate the day and time and stop reporting between this time frame.
@AndersJensen videos really helped for the ground work to accomplish this task.

Thanks once again for the assistance.

Lesson learned and experience gained!

Regards,
Brandon
