Queue items 'In Progress' cannot be removed (after >24h)

Some items in the Orchestrator failed due to an ‘unexpected error’. Now these items stay in the queue and I cannot remove them, even after several days.

So how do I remove these items without deleting the entire queue?

Unfortunately, we do not have an option to delete the items which are in In Progress state.
Even I had the same problem. I had to delete the entire queue and re-add the queue.
We have an option to delete only the queue items with status New.
