According to the note from:

“Custom progress statuses are only displayed while an item has the InProgress status.”
This Progress field is often used as a way to store additional data within a queue item after its creation. Having this field not visible YET still existing makes the potential debugging process more cumbersome and, to me, benefits no one.
Why was that change needed? Who benefits at the cost of making developers lives harder?
Can we have a discussion here about reverting to the state prior to this change?
