Process define document - PDD

Hi,
In the PDD, we have a section called “Applications Used in the Process” under AS IS section.

Just want to confirm that “Applications Used in the Process” section contains on applications related to AS IS process? Or we can also add TO BE applications also such as ABBYY OCR, DU, etc.

thanks

HI @Raj_Maheshwari1

You can also use the application used in the TO Be process

Hi @Raj_Maheshwari1

The table includes a comprehensive list of all the applications that are used as part of the process to be automated to perform the given actions in the flow

From the descriptions it seems that those are applications used by the people who are performing the process manually. As for your question it would mean that those are only for AS IS part of the process.

  1. If you know that the applications does not change in TO-BE process (they usually don’t) you can move that part above AS IS PROCESS DESCRIPTION. Maybe as 2.2 Below the 2.1 Process Overview. ← This way the design of the document will be better.

  2. In case you find out that some application used in AS IS process are not necessary (For example human workers are using Outlook but you decide to send mails with SMTP action) you can add another application section in TO BE part of PDD.

That’s what I’d do at least.

Yes, Of courser you can add the application steps in the TO BE process.

Hi @Raj_Maheshwari1

Simply put, AS-IS maps where your processes are and TO-BE maps where you want them to be

The AS-IS state of a process is the “now” state. It’s how the process operates before you make any changes or improvements. The TO-BE process, on the other hand, is the future state.
