Outlook 365 Send Email with Zip Folder

I am using Outlook 365 to send emails without integration service. When the file attachments are too large, I have a catch to zip the files and send the email with a zip folder attachment. However, 95% of the time the email with zip folder is still failing due to the operation timing out. Does anybody have any suggestions for how to resolve this issue? Thanks

Hi @jpreziuso

Can you try below solutions:

  1. Increase the timeout on your email activity

  2. enable retry scope to try sending the email again in case of failure

Hope this helps.

Hi Sonali,

Thanks for this response. Unless I am mistaken, there is no timeout property for the Outlook 365/Send Email activity. I tried to put the entire thing in a timeout scope, but it does not seem to be helping.

I can try to implement a retry scope to see if that helps and I will also increase my delays.

As for the Outlook settings, I do not see those options…but I would not want to enable that option anyway.

Thanks again

Hi @jpreziuso

I think retry should help you! Have a good enough interval between 2 retries.

@jpreziuso

Also this activity does have time out property.

I am using this activity because the typical Outlook activities did not work with my permissions.

Also, for the retry scope…the retry interval is in seconds, but the format appears as “5.00:00:00”. Would this value be 5 seconds, or 5 days?

@jpreziuso

Ohh, you are on studio X..

You can use like this for interval - New Timespan(0,0,10)

hours, minutes seconds

I believe I am still using the standard UiPath Studio, not X. I’m not positive though.

But ok I will try that timespan, thanks

Hey,

Our recommendation is to use the Microsoft 365 activities from Microsoft 365 Package as this is the one where are going to bring most of the new features in the next period.

Here you can configure the Timeout directly in the Project Setting. In addition to this, if the file is to big maybe a good option is to upload the file to OneDrive and attach it in the Email via a Link.

Thank you,
