We faced orchestrator performance degradation today in Canada which has been resolved now but left us wondering if it was related to ongoing maintenance for US and UK regions.
And now, we are also worried about upcoming maintainence for Canada region. Will it have any impact on services in Canada while maintainence is in progress.
As this window falls on Monday morning EST until Tuesday morning EST, we are bit concerned what level of impact(if any) it can have on our ongoing process runs during the time.
Our Mondays are bit heavier on process runs and most of those being critical ones. Hence, we can’t afford a situation like we faced today.
We wonder - can these maintenance windows be not planned for weekends instead of weekdays especially Mondays
The performance issues were not related in any way to the announced maintenance. We will publish an RCA soon with the details.
As for the scheduling of maintenance windows, we choose based on a number of criteria in the interest of minimizing customer disruption. The posted maintenance involves changing outbound IPs for some services. The most likely impact is that some customers have not updated, so the fix lies with the IT teams of the customers. We scheduled this one on a weekday to maximize the chances of our customers having the resource available to react.
Other factors we take into account are dependency on vendors, availability of our experts, likelihood of disruption, among others.
Are you able to please share the details regarding the duration of outage of services during this time.
Will the impacted services(automation cloud/orchestrator etc) be unavailable during the full maintenance window or there will be specific times when certain services would be unavailable.
Knowing this info can help us reschedule our process runs accordingly.
