Orchestrator Job Fault Alerts on Teams

Hi Team,
I would like to understand if we can send Job Fault messages on teams chat group.
It would be great to have this.

Thanks
Prachi

Hi @Prachi_R_Singh,

You have a couple of options:

  • Configure a Microsoft Teams connection in Orchestrator and use it to send job fault notifications.
  • Use a Teams Incoming Webhook and send notifications from your automation.
  • Subscribe Orchestor events for failed jobs

Thanks

@Prachi_R_Singh
Power Platform premium connectors access you can follow this approach.

UiPath Job Fails
↓
Webhook Sent
↓
Power Automate Triggered
↓
Teams Notification Posted

If you don’t have or don’t want to bring another layer, you can build a separate bot to monitor job failures through Orchestrator API and send teams notification through Teams activity.

Microsoft Teams activities

Can you elaborate on the first 2 steps here?

@Prachi_R_Singh

Create a webhook from UiPath Orchestrator → Tenant → Webhooks

Catch the event with Power Automate with Automated Cloud Flow with trigger When an HTTP request is received

Hi prachi

the webhook plus Power Automate route Ashok showed is the one i would go with, just two details that usually trip people. When creating the webhook in Orchestrator dont leave it subscribed to all events, pick only job.faulted, otherwise the flow fires for everything in the tenant. And in Power Automate add a Parse JSON step after the HTTP trigger, the useful fields come inside Job, like ReleaseName for the process and Info wich carries the fault reason, then just use Post message in a chat or channel to drop it in your group

one catch, that HTTP request trigger is a premium connector, so if you dont have the license theres a simpler fallback. Orchestrator can send email alerts when jobs fault, and a Teams channel has its own email address, so you point the alert mail there and failures land in Teams with zero extra tooling. Its a channel instead of a group chat but works fine as a first version

hope this helps :wink:
