Error fix for "The Following Feature Need to Be Enabled In Windows Settings: IIS-Application Init ", thrown during Orchestrator 20.4 installation.

This article is relevant for 2020.4.x versions.

Starting 20.4 version of Orchestrator, a new feature needs to be enabled apart from the default ones mentioned in the Server Roles and Features .

Follow below steps to enable "Application Initialization" feature from Windows features
  1. Open server manager
  2. Add/Remove feature
  3. In Roles and features tan
  4. Expand the Web server -> Application Development
  5. Enable Application Initialization

  1. Once this feature is installed, the upgrade/installation of 20.4.0 version of Orchestrator should be tried again.

It is recommended to run the powershell script to avoid this issue during the installation. Read more on Orchestrator - Prerequisites for Installation .
