Object Repository : Why cannot we create screens from the sub-regions of the full screen? That could open doors for managing elements in the tree

Why cannot we create screens from the sub-regions of the full screen? Sometimes the screen has different tabs and each tab would display an entirely new page. So I would like to create child screens under the main parent screen.
And sometimes I would like to split collection of elements based on which region of the parent page I want to work with.
