Notepad Format menu : "control doesnt support select list"

Hello,
I am investigating problems with Notepad and studio 2018.2.3.
When I create a “Select item” (Control activities) and select the Notepad “Format” menu on screen, a pop up displays “This control doesn’t support select item”.
I was expecting to see the two items of the menu…
Is it a missunderstanding on my side or is it merely a Studio problem ?
