Not Getting DU Service

Document Understanding API Key Missing – Community Plan

Hi UiPath Community,

I’m using the UiPath Automation Cloud Community Plan and I’m trying to get the Document Understanding (DU) API Key for API integration.

After the recent licensing/UI update, I’m unable to find the DU API key.

Here is what I see:

  • Admin → Licenses → Robots & Services

    • Production (Unattended) Robot: 1

    • Computer Vision: 30

    • No Document Understanding license/key

  • Admin → Licenses → Consumables

    • Credits are displayed

    • AI Units are not displayed

  • Admin → New_Tenant → Services

    • Orchestrator

    • Actions

    • Maestro

    • Integration Service

    • Process Launcher

    • Task Mining

    • Document Understanding is not listed

  • Document Understanding is also not available in the App Launcher.

According to the current UiPath documentation, Document Understanding is included with the Community Plan, and the DU API key should be available through the licensing/AI Units area.

Could someone please clarify how to obtain the Document Understanding API Key with the new Community Plan licensing UI?

Is the DU API key no longer provided under the new licensing model, or does my organization/tenant need to be provisioned for Document Understanding?

I have attached screenshots of the Robots & Services, Consumables, New_Tenant → Services, and App Launcher pages.

Any guidance on the correct location or steps to obtain the DU API key would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi @Sachin_Navghare

It looks like this may be related to the recent Community licensing and UI changes. If Document Understanding is not visible under Services or in the App Launcher, the DU service might not be provisioned or enabled for your tenant.

I would suggest checking the following:

  • Make sure you are in the correct Automation Cloud organization and tenant.
  • Check Admin → Licenses → Consumables for the available Document Understanding/AI consumption entitlement.
  • Verify whether the Document Understanding service needs to be enabled or provisioned for your tenant.
  • If you are using DU through API integration, also check the current authentication method in the latest UiPath documentation, as licensing and API access may have changed with the new model.

Since the Community licensing experience has recently changed, I would also recommend waiting for confirmation from a UiPath team member or checking the latest documentation for the current method of accessing DU.

Hope this helps!

Hi @Sachin_Navghare ,
If Document Understanding is not visible under Services and no AI Units/DU API Key are available in your Community tenant, it usually means that Document Understanding has not been provisioned/enabled for that tenant after the recent licensing changes.

:white_check_mark: Try:

  • Checking Admin → Licenses → AI Units (if available).
  • Enabling Document Understanding from Admin → Services.
  • Creating a new Community tenant/org, as some older tenants may not have DU provisioned automatically.
  • Contacting UiPath Community Support if DU still does not appear.

Thanks

Hi @Sachin_Navghare,

In my community orchestrator I don’t see any issues in getting the Document Understanding API Key. I don’t think Document Understanding service has to be enabled to get the DU API Key.

Can you just try deleting and create your organization again. This might fix the issue sometimes. Here are the steps that you can follow for deleting and re-creating the organization.

I hope this resolves your issue.

Cheers!

Hi @Sachin_Navghare

Hi, if Document Understanding is not showing under Admin → Services or in the App Launcher, it looks like DU is not provisioned for your tenant.

I would suggest checking Admin → Licenses → Consumables for AI Units. If AI Units are not available there, you probably won’t be able to generate the DU API key from that tenant.

In that case, I would raise a ticket with UiPath Support and ask them to check/provision Document Understanding for your Community tenant.
