Not able to open xaml files of the studio

Hello All,

I installed the UiPath Studio latest version but not able to open the xaml files from the file explorer, it prompting to choose the app, even though i select the studio, it is prompting the same.

Even if i open the project from studio, the xaml files are not appearing to open.

Select the .exe manually. It happens to me on every update

Hi @ADITYA_T

Kindly try the below 2 ways

Option 1

  • Right-click any .xaml file
  • Click Open with → Choose another app
  • Select UiPath Studio
  • Tick “Always use this app to open .xaml files”
  • Click OK

Option 2

  • Go to Control Panel → Programs & Features
  • Select UiPath Studio
  • Click Repair
  • Restart system

I have tried the 2 ways, but in the Option 1 it is only showing just once buttion.

In the 2nd option there is no repair option.

It’s operating system issue. Change the default app for xaml extension to UiPath Studio and you should be good.

Please try below mentioned approaches.

  1. restart the studio and try again.

  2. open studio first and then open your project from within studio. Once opened, check your dependencies, and repair if any error shown.

  3. right click on main.xaml file and choose more apps and navigate to the path where UiPath studio is installed, select the .exe and choose always open option.

  4. Re-install studio. A fresh install can resolve potential corruption issues.

Try this:

  1. Right Click a random .xaml file
  2. Select Show more settings
  3. Click Properties
  4. Click the Change button @ Open With
  5. Select UiPath Studio

Your Studio icon does not look right, so perhaps you will need a reinstall/repair.
