Need to be able to set queue item Reference after it is created

Currently we can only set the queue item Reference value when creating the queue item. This makes no sense to me. It’s just a free-form field that doesn’t DO anything. There needs to be a way, preferably with a property in the Set Transaction Status (and other transaction and queue item activities) to set the value of Reference for an existing item.

Multiple automations pull from the same queue. We need to be able to mark each queue item with which automation processed it.
