Modify Annotation in DU

Hi All,
I am trying Modern DU but unable to edit the value of the extracted field(vendor name) from superstore to mystore. Is it not possible to edit the extracted value?

Hi @Mudit_Choudhary

Yes, you can edit the extracted value, but the Extraction Fields panel is mainly for reviewing/correcting the extraction. Try opening the extracted field value and editing it there.

If the value is read-only in your current Modern DU experience, you can assign/update the field value after extraction in your workflow, rather than changing it directly in the extraction result.

For example: Vendor Name = “MyStore” after the extraction step.

Hi @Mudit_Choudhary ,
Yes, this is expected behavior in Modern Document Understanding.

The value shown in the Extraction Fields panel (for example, Vendor Name = SuperStore) is the raw extracted result from the model and cannot be directly edited in the schema/training view. The extractor only displays what it detected from the document.

Try these steps:

  • If you’re using Validation Station/Present Validation Action, users can correct the extracted value during validation.
  • If the extraction is wrong, improve the extractor by:
    • Adding more training samples.
    • Retraining/publishing the model.
    • Adjusting field definitions and anchors.
  • If you simply need to replace the value in the automation, update it after extraction in your workflow (e.g., assign "MyStore" to the field value before further processing).

Thanks
