Modern Design Compatibility with 2020.4 and 2020.10

I am developing on studio 2020.10 but will be running processes from 2020.4 and then eventually upgrading these to 2020.10.

Can I simply use all modern design activities? Or should I install the deprecated UiAutomationNext package? I want to use the new activities, but need them to work on 2020.4 and 2020.10. What is the proper solution here?
