Missing Robot Option in "First Run With UiPath" Lesson

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on the RPA Developer Foundation course in UiPath, specifically in the Meet the UiPath Platform (v2021.10) unit under the First Run With UiPath lesson. In the video tutorial, I’m instructed to select the Robot option from a list to proceed, but this option is not visible on my end.

Here’s an excerpt from the transcript for reference:

“To assign a role, we’ll go to ‘Assign roles’ and select ‘User’. Here we must type in the name of the newly added user. And let’s provide the ‘Robot’ role.”

I’ve followed each step precisely without skipping any features, so I’m concerned that moving forward might lead to missing out on key role assignments. Could someone guide me on resolving this issue, or suggest an alternative approach if the Robot option is supposed to appear at this stage?

Hi Daniel,

In the below screenshot I assign the robot role to a user in my organisation in a certain folder.

If that role doesn’t show up, the role might not exist yet and you will have to create it first.

Be aware, I’m on orchestrator 23.10, so your layout is probably different then mine.
2021.10 is quite old. There will be a lot of differences between the training and the community/cloud orchestrator. Or is your organisation on 2021.10 still?

Thank you for the guidance—it was really helpful! I was able to follow the steps you provided, and I’ve managed to assign the Robot role as shown in your screenshots.

Yes, I’m using version 2021.10 for my organization, so I’ll keep in mind that there may be differences from the latest orchestrator layout. I appreciate the clarification on that.

Additionally, I’ve been informed by the UiPath support team to skip this step, as they plan to release a new version of the course with the correct steps.
