Marking email read on bot restart

I have a bot running every minute, when bot is stopped due to any server/hardware issues, bot starts execution.
However upon starting it reads old emails from the mailbox and starts processing and replying to them, which violates the ask from the client.
How can I address the issue of marking emails as read upon a restart of a bot which are sent 1hour ago.

Use Mark Outlook Mail As Read/Unread activity to mark the email as read.

Can you also suggest on how to get emails sent an hour ago .
Where should I place the code in execution as it should be the very first task to be processed.
