Local Groups in Modern Folders

Wondering about using Local Groups to manage access to Modern Folders for Users.
If I go into Identity Hub and create a Group and assign Users to it and then to go a Modern Folder and add or assign the Local Group and set the Role to Robot, then would expect that any User in that Group, when they run Assistant, would see the Processes assigned to the Modern Folder listed in their Process List in Assistant, but that does not appear to be the case…? Is my understanding of Groups incorrect…?
