Licensing steps for running multiple id’s in one machine

We are trying to run UiPath robot from different id’s from a same machine.
The UiPath software is installed for all users
We are licensing the robot using machine key from template machine.
When we connect the license from a id a session is created with user id and machine name combination under template and a license is consumed by this session and same happen with another id.
Due to the above behaviour two licenses are consumed by one machine.
Can anyone help me with the correct steps

@Mani_Kandan are you expecting that for other user it should not allow to run as the license is consumed already?
or
U want to run multiple user on single license?
or
u have high density bot configured too ?

Let us know what is the result u want to achieve

@Mani_Kandan

It would be two licenses only as two users are being assigned to same machine so effectively they are two

Cheers

Hi @rajat.jain

The machine is not configured as high density robot.

Only one robot will be active at a time.

Can we allocate licenses based on machine rather than per user

are you on modern folder or classic folder

Hi @Mani_Kandan

Create a separate user account for each user who will be running the robots and grant the necessary permissions to the user accounts to run the UiPath robots. This includes permissions to access the UiPath software installation directory and permissions to run the UiPath Robot service.

Then configure the UiPath Robot to run as a Windows service for each user account. You can do this by following these steps:

a. Open the UiPath Robot tray icon and click on the Settings button.
b. In the Settings window, click on the “Service” tab.
c. Click on the “Register Windows Service” button.
d. Enter the user credentials for the user account and click on the “Register” button.
e. Repeat these steps for each user account.

Once the UiPath Robots are configured as Windows services, you can start and stop them using the Services console in Windows.

Thanks!!

We are using modern folders

Hi ,

Thanks for the response but by following the above steps will we be able to use one license for one machine two users

@Mani_Kandan please mark it as solution since it is resolved Thanks

HI, If we can install and connect to orchestrator with admin privileged we will be able to login with multiple id’s and still can use UiPath with same license and also have the software as robot service and not user
