Consider a Windows Server machine connected to Orchestrator using a machine template configured with 3 licenses (runtimes). If the only job running uses a background process, how many licenses are consumed?

Please clarify with solid explanation. Will the answer be 3 or 1?

It will consume 1 license, not 3 becaue your Machine Template configured with 3 runtimes and only 1 background process job is running.
Result in only 1 runtime license is consumed.

Cheers

@hassan.ahmed,

It will be consuming 1 license from that machine template. Be it background or foreground process you run, 1 unattended license would be used.

To use remaining 2 license, make sure you have the two more robots configured with different user id’s than your background process running robot id.

The machine consumes three licences, meaning the licences cannot be used on another machine, and the job is using 1 of those 3.
