License error after uipath update

Hello, today there was a popup to update UiPath. After the update, I tried to log in to Studio and it says that the community license doesn’t work for Desktop studio. I have a community/academic license and it worked 3 days ago. Any suggestions?

I do have the Academic license…when I look under my name in studio it says Express. 2 days ago, I could create a workflow in Studio.

@aduffey,

Login into the Orchestrator and check the license available. Your user id should have at least Pro license.

Thank you!

I tried to do that, but when I tried to access it through Assistant, Assistant wants me to update CoPilot before I can access anything…and I don’t know how to do that, either.

Is there a way to access Orchestrator besides through the desktop Assistant icon?

I appreciate your response.

I found this, but I don’t know that I should select Enterprise Activation.

@aduffey

You are on free plan currently

Free plan does not offer any license

As previously you were on other standard licenses you were able to access

If you want to revert to community licnese then there are only two ways

  1. Use a new email to create an org again and use that
  2. Delete the current org from admin panel and then recreate in community again to get a fresh community license

But bear in mind in both cases the data or assets you saved on orchestrator would be lost and you need to recreate

Cheers

Thank you for your help. I had a license through the Academic Alliance. Does that make a difference? Am I going to get locked out every time there is an update?

@aduffey

Academic alliance license expires after few months and then if you still want to use you need to create community account.. community account would not expire unless you start a pro trail or enterprise trail licenses

So now if you convert to community then it should be fine

Cheers

I see this from an email I received that says the license would be good for 365 days:

  1. The license key can be used for two activations on separate machines and will expire after 365 days, upon activation. However, this license will continue to be automatically extended, but we do recommend updating the version once a year.
  2. Please avoid signing in with an email address on Studio/StudioX or connecting to Orchestrator, as the software will automatically update to the newestversion available online.

@aduffey

Then please signout and use the activating key

If you see second point it clearly says not to signin or upgrade

Cheers

I didn’t realize the part about upgrading until I just saw it. There was a popup that said to upgrade or otherwise it would do it automatically.

I can get Studio to open but now I don’t see the option to get to StudioX. When I go to Orchestrator, it won’t let me get past the screen that wants me to enable autopilot.

@aduffey

In the new studio there is only one studio bith are merged look would be same

Cheers
