Issue with type into password field

Try clicking the text box and then setting the text (so click activity and set text activity)
Or try to copy the variable to your clipboard, clicking the text box and using hotkey control + v. (so copy to clipboard activity, click activity and send hotkey activity)

Just wanted to mention this as I sometimes had to do it like this when I encounter an issue that (does not completely) looks like yours.

For now, I’ve solved the issue by just changing my password to not include a <. The automation runs perfectly with the new password (even though it is longer) without altering anything in the flow.
