Issue with Machine Licensing in UiPath Orchestrator Description:

Hello, community!

I am facing an issue while trying to manage licenses in my UiPath Orchestrator environment. I purchased 3 Automation Developer licenses and 1 Testing license, but when I create machines in Orchestrator, they are automatically assigned to the Testing license, and I cannot change them to Automation Developer.

The issue:

When creating machines in Orchestrator, they are automatically assigned to the Testing license.
Even though I have 3 Automation Developer licenses available, the machines do not consume these licenses and instead consume the Testing license.
I cannot change the license type to Automation Developer during the machine creation process.

What I need:

I want to force Orchestrator to assign the Automation Developer licenses to the created machines, without it automatically assigning the Testing license.
How can I ensure that each machine uses the correct license (Automation Developer or Testing)?

What I have tried:

I updated the licenses in Orchestrator, but the machines still default to the Testing license.
I couldn’t find the option to change the license type during machine creation.

studio 2023.4.4
Orchestrator 2023.4.1

Thank you for your help, and I look forward to any suggestions on how to resolve this issue.

Hi @Arsenio_Sergio_Langa,

Automation Developer license in UiPath is assigned to a user, not a machine. It allows users to connect their Studio or StudioX to Orchestrator for development and debugging.

For assigning automation developer license to users, go to manage access, add/edit users and assign the licenses accordingly.

The testing license that is being given to machine will be used for running unattended processes.

To learn more about the licensing, read below:

Hope this helps.
