Issue Publishing Library: "Package cannot be published to the shared feed"

Hello everyone,

I am encountering an issue while trying to publish a library in UiPath Studio. The error message I receive is as follows:

Publish of LoginLibrary failed. Package cannot be published to the shared feed

hey @Alexandru_Duta have your admin give you access to publish your package in the shared folder? and if yes and having same error try to publish your package try alternate method publish your package in your local location for eq-C://Download/xyz and then go to orchestrator and try to upload package from orchestror.
cheers Happy Automation

Thank you for the suggestion! Regarding the admin’s role, could you clarify exactly what permissions they need to grant? Specifically:

  1. Should the admin enable access to the shared feed in Orchestrator settings?
  2. Do they need to grant me a specific role or permission, such as “Library Creator” or “Package Publisher”?
  3. Is there a specific setting in the tenant or folder configuration that they need to check (e.g., “Host Tenant Feeds”)?

I just want to ensure I guide them correctly. If there are additional details about how to configure the shared feed, that would be helpful as well.

Thanks again for your help!

hey @Alexandru_Duta for the permission before contacting with admin open orchestrator and check you have access the upload option or not i’m attaching a screenshot

if the upload button is disabled for you that this means only you have not access to publish the package.

Verify the deployment settings in the Tenant and ensure that the user has workspace access enabled.

Tenant> Setting> Deployment

Yes, but I want to publish a Library, not a Package

@Alexandru_Duta

Then check the libraries tab

Also as per error looks like you dont have publish tole to libraries…so tell your admin to grant the publisher role to publish to shared feed

Cheers

What are the steps for the admin to grant me access?

Ohh. my bad @Alexandru_Duta are you publishing library package in community version. because in community version they did not give such permission for this you can only publish it to custom location.like your local location and use it for other process. and if you are on Enterprise version please contact with admin to give you access for publishing.

If you’re encountering the “Package cannot be published to the shared feed” error on the UiPath Community Edition, there are a few specific factors to consider. The Community Edition has some limitations compared to the Enterprise Edition, especially regarding Orchestrator features.

Here’s a breakdown of why this issue could happen and how you might resolve it:

1. Orchestrator Community Edition Limitations

In the UiPath Community Edition, Orchestrator comes with some limitations:

  • No Shared Folders for Library Publishing: Community Orchestrator doesn’t support shared folders, which are necessary for publishing libraries to a shared feed.
  • Package Publishing: The Community Orchestrator allows you to publish packages, but it might not support library publishing to the shared feed as you would with the Enterprise Orchestrator version.

I have Enterprise Orchestrator

And what are the steps for the admin to grant me the permission?

okay @Alexandru_Duta these are the steps:

Step 1: Assign the “Library Publisher” Role in Orchestrator

  • You need to assign the Library Publisher role to the user within Orchestrator to allow them to publish libraries.

Steps:

  1. Login to Orchestrator as an Administrator.
  2. Go to the Tenant or Folder where you want to assign the permission.
  3. Navigate to Tenant > Users (or Folder > Users for specific folders).
  4. Select the user from the list to whom you want to grant the permission.
  5. Under the Roles section, assign the “Library Publisher” role to the user.
  • This role gives them permission to publish, update, or delete libraries in Orchestrator.
  1. Save the changes.

cheers Happy Learning keep automating

@Alexandru_Duta

See first this is one of the reasons…you need to check with admin that you are unable to publish and that can be checked from their side. Basically steps or checks are to be done on user level role in manage access under tenant in orchestrator

Cheers

Hi @Alexandru_Duta,

  1. Firstly, check whether you are able to see Libraries tab as shown in below screenshot. Sometimes that also will not be shown, so firstly that will need to be enabled. If not shown follow 2nd screenshot and get it enabled:

2nd Screenshot below:

  1. Can you check which role is assigned to your user, follow below screenshot:

  2. Then check permissions for that role, see if libraries option is enabled for the roles you have been assigned.

Hope this helps.

Sonali
