Is it possible to link UiPath accounts for learning, forums?

I did all of my serious UiPath Academy training using my personal gmail account. Now that I have a UiPath account using my new work email address, I was wondering I could link my new account to the account I used to learn everything?

You can do it from Academy user profile setting.

How does this link the accounts? I would like to still use my work email account but I would like acknowledge all the training and forum interactions with my work email account.
Changing my email to the other account does what exactly?
