When we have lots of interbedded activities. They can not be seen in sequence.

Well, you are nested more deeply than best practices (7).
Have you tried breaking the sequence up into multiple workflows? That will have benefits in simplicity and reuse as well as reducing the nesting levels.
I think this is a bug in the latest preview version of the System activity package. Could you try downgrading to the latest stable version and see if that fixes the issue in your case?
For the record, the bug is already scheduled for a fix in the future version.
