Infinite buffering in the locals panel while using "Use Excel File" activity

Hello all,

I never thought I would need to post here but alas, here I am.

So let me get to the gist of it:

Whenever I use the “Use Excel File” activity and I go step by step into the Sequence and activity to see what exactly is being done and what is going on with my variables, the locals panel keeps buffering until I stop the debug run.

Basically I can track the progress of the variables and changes before the “use excel file” activity, but what happens withing the activity is a complete mystery, I tried everything.

Yeah Im stumped.

Screenshot for reference.

And no the datatable is not empty, it was filtered like that so the log messages display the empty rows at the end.
I also cant upload the workflow.

Hi!

What version of Studio are you running, and what package version are you using for your Excel Activities?

Studio 2023.10.6 I sadly cant update it since its on a remote machine and the update will be applied to all Users using the Machine, which is not very convenient since there are approximately about 50 Non-Personal-Users connected to the machine and about 1-3 processes tied to every NPU.

Excel Activities v2.22.4 cant go higher than that sadly…

Hello @antonio.grgic

Not sure if it helps but have you tried:

  • Rebooting the machine
  • Running the installation again to repair
  • Resetting settings in Studio
  • Removing/re-adding the Excel.Activities package

Other suggestions:

  • (Beware) Run CCleaner (erase files and cleanup registry)
  • Clear %temp%
  • Uninstall/reinstall UiPath Studio

Sorry I forgot to mention, its a remote virtual machine.

I cant update, reinstall or add external programs like CCleaner nor can I update or reinstall already existing programs, that is done by our companies IT-department of which I have no control over nor any detail if and when Studio will be updated.

I tried resetting the settings and readding the packages to no avail.

I dont want to mess with the %temp% files because it might cause issues with the other NPU’s

Ok.

I think the path to solving this lies in collaborating with the IT-department.
Perhaps a simple reboot or repair might fix the problem.

Soren
