In progress to be abounded

i have tow question based on my scenario which i do some activity after all transaction item get success or failed but in cause one transaction item stay in progress (at the end will be abounded ) then my robot will not do the required activity till 24 hour so below my questions please

1-what is the impact if i reduce the abounded time to be 30 min
2- how i can tell if this transaction item (in-progress) is gone to be abounded

and is there any recommended way to handle such scenarios ?
