Which option to select during Migration: Automation Cloud or Automation Suite?

  • Select On-premises MSI, if you migrate from standalone Orchestrator.

I m migrating from On Premise orchestrator to Automation Cloud so while using Migration tool which option shall i use Automation Cloud or Automation Suite and what is the major difference in both?

In case you are migrating to Automation Cloud, then you need to select Automation Cloud. The Automation Suite is on-premise with all the UiPath products, whereas the on-premises MSI is a standalone Orchestrator.

I m planning to migrate from on Prem to Automation CLoud then i can choose Automation Cloud Only correct?

i have one more question,
“Can I use my local machine to create the Automation Cloud setup, or should I use the client VM? Additionally, when using the Cloud Migration Tool, can it be run on any machine, or must it be executed on the VM where the On-Prem Orchestrator is hosted? Also, can we create a separate Automation Cloud organization (URL) for the client with proper Organisation Name?

Hello @Snehamayi_Senapati,

  • You can use your local machine or a client VM to set up Automation Cloud — it’s browser-based, so there are no restrictions on where you can access it from.
  • The Cloud Migration Tool can be run on any machine; it does not have to be the On-Prem Orchestrator VM, as long as it has network access to both:
    • On-Prem Orchestrator
    • Automation Cloud
  • Yes, you can create a separate Automation Cloud organization (URL) for the client using the required organization name.
