I am facing a challenging issue. I need to create a new user with the username intranet\ext*****.
However, the system correctly informs me that this username is already in use. I have located the old account that is currently assigned this username.
The problem is, when I try to edit or delete this old account to free up the username, I consistently receive the following error: Not Found. Please verify that the user was not removed from Portal. (#1002)
So, I am stuck in a loop:
I cannot delete the old user because the system claims it’s “Not Found”.
I cannot create the new user because the system claims the username is taken by this “ghost” account.
I have tried to edit the user to remove their roles, but any attempt to save the changes results in the same #1002 error.
My question is: How can I forcefully remove this old/corrupted user entry so that I can reuse the username intranet\ext***** for a new account?
This usually happens when the user has already been removed from the UiPath organization, but the old entry is still visible under Manage Access.
I’d first check Admin → Accounts & Groups and confirm whether the user still exists. If they’re not there, don’t try to force-delete or edit the entry. The safest option is to raise a UiPath Support ticket and ask them to clear the stale entry so the username can be reused.
UiPath documents this exact Not Found (#1002) scenario here:
Since you are getting #1002 while editing or deleting the user, I would avoid making any direct database changes. Check the Orchestrator/Portal logs and raise a UiPath Support ticket with the username and error details.
UiPath Support can verify and remove the stale user record so the username can be reused.
