I want to split SSN and later mod it

I’m trying split generic value SSN which is type 123-12-8894 , I need the 8894 part and later I need to mod it. If it’s equal the person is man and if it’s odd person is female. The later part of this is simple but whats best way to split that SSN so I get the 8894?

@Darba

Try this:

    inputStr = "123-12-8894"

    requiredStr =  inputStr.Split("-"c)(2)

May I know from where you are reading this value ?
