I cannot use Studio Desktop since my license automatically changed from Automation Developer to Express User

I have always used Studio Desktop to create, test, debug and run RPA workflows on my local machine, and I had the free ‘Automation developer’ license.
Starting from may 2025 the free license automatically changed to ‘Express user’ and I cannot use Studio Desktop anymore, I can only open my projects but not edit or run them.

When I click on any of my local projects on Studio Desktop the app shows a popup that says: “25.0.167-cloud.20201+Branch.release-s167.Sha.3caef38759fe02baaa5198fed3297963ab48b440.3caef38759fe02baaa5198fed3297963ab48b440
Studio Desktop is not available with your current license. Please consider upgrading your license.”

Express license supports on studiox

If you have community license in orchestrator you can assign a developer license else free license has studiox only

Cheers

@arianna.bussola-cic,

Check your license from the Orchestrator. If you were using Enterprise trail, after expiry you will be moved to the free version which have express user license only.

Hi @arianna.bussola-cic

As expected from starting may 2025, the free ‘Automation Developer’ license changed to ‘Express User,’ which no longer allows editing or running workflows in Studio Desktop. You have to upgrade or try with different email Id or try trial enterprise .

Happy Automation

Hi @prashant1603765 , thank you.
I have already tried signing in with a new different email, but the only free trial available is the “express user” one.
Do you know how can I chose the trial enterprise instead?

Hi @arianna.bussola-cic

Ok
