Do you often use the parent id mastercard setting in selector?

When I watch a YouTube video, I use Mastercard (*) for the parent ID a lot. When should I use it??
Please give a detailed example. Thanks

HI *(Wildcard) is used for replacing 0 or more characters in the given selector
in most of the cases when you are working with different windows or automating through different browsers the selector value will be frequently changing either in the title value or in different tags…
in such cases to avoid selector not found exceptions we use wildcards.
