When two versions of Studio installed under the same user account
Approach 1
Perform a clean uninstallation by following the steps listed below:
- Close all the running instances of UiPath Studio.
- Uninstall UiPath Studio and UiPath Platform Installer if found under Control Panel - admin rights might be needed to uninstall the product (if by any chance there are more installed instances, uninstall all of them).
- When the removal is completed delete any remaining folders related to UiPath Studio, as advised in the Modify or Uninstall Studio page.
-
- Delete %programdata%\UiPath if the folder exists.
- Delete %localappdata%\UiPath if the folder exists.
- Delete %localappdata%\UiPathAddins if the folder exists.
- Delete %APPDATA%\UiPath if the folder exists.
- Delete %APPDATA%\UiPath Assistant if the folder exists.
- In the Assistant processes folders (if the folder exists) at the Windows Start menu %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\UiPath Assistant Automations and/or %APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\UiPath Assistant Processes; delete all the content from there.
- Delete the content from the folder %localappdata%\nuget\cache if the folder exists.
- Delete the content from the folder %LOCALAPPDATA%\NuGet\v3-cache if the folder exists.
- Delete all content from the %temp% folder. The files which are not allowed to be deleted, just skip them.
Approach 2
- Goto task manager -> click on Services and processes kill all the tasks related to robot and Studio instances.
- Uninstall manually.
Approach 3
Notes:
- In the rare cases where the uninstallation fails, you can use third-party applications to uninstall (Please note that your IT team can assist you in obtaining a reliable application to perform this removal).
- Due to conflicts between the two versions, you won't be able to uninstall a specific version. Therefore, you will need to perform a clean uninstall. Afterward, you can proceed with a fresh installation to meet your requirements.
Reinstall using the initial installer file or download the file from the UiPath Customer Portal. For detailed information on installation options, check the documentation on Installing Studio.
