How to troubleshoot error : A JavaScript error occurred in the main process

When trying to launch after new installation or uninstall the existing Task Capture instance, getting error : A JavaScript error occurred in the main process

As per UiPath Suite 2019.10.5, it is a known scenario where Task Capture sometimes generates JavaScript error in two scenarios, as shown below:

  • Error after first start of newly installed Task Capture instance
  • Error when trying to uninstall the existing Task Capture instance

Follow the below steps in order to resolve the issue in both the scenarios:

Scenario 1 : Error after first start of newly installed Task Capture instance
Resolution : This could be due to some conflict on file creating at installation/launch stage.
A fresh settings file that is used by Task Capture, needs to put at %appdata%/Task Capture and then launch TC again.

Scenario 2 : Error when trying to uninstall the existing Task Capture instance
Resolution : Before uninstalling the Task Capture instance, delete folder present at below path :
%appdata%\Task Capture\UiPath Task Capture
