How to download a file in Edge by directly opening the 'Save as' without having to choose between 'Open' or 'Save as'

Hi,

I need to automate some file downloads in Edge, and I have to set the path every time I download a file in Edge. However, when I select the option “Ask me what to do with each download” in the Edge settings, it asks me if I want to open or save as. I don’t want it to ask me that; I just want it to open the “Save as” window directly, similar to Chrome.

maybe the following alternates can help:

  • right click on link, save as from context menu
  • download with HTTP Request or the newer download file from URL activity

Along with others e.g Edge settings configuration like settings > Download option
