How to Disable the Auto-Saving Selectors Feature in UiPath Studio Object Repository?

Issue Overview:

The Object Repository helps organize and reuse UI elements across automation projects in UiPath Studio.

Since version 24.10.1, Studio automatically saves selectors from activities into the Object Repository during development.

This enhancement is intended to streamline element management; however, some users may find the behavior disruptive or unnecessary for certain workflows.

This automatic saving feature can be disabled from the Project Settings in Studio.

Applicable Versions:

  • UiPath Studio 24.10.1 and above

Steps to Disable Auto-Saving of Selectors:

  1. Open UiPath Studio and load the relevant project.

  2. In the Projects panel, click the Project Settings (gear icon).

  3. In the left menu of the Project Settings panel, select "UI Automation Modern".

  4. Scroll to the option "Automatically add UI elements to Object Repository."

  5. Set the value to False, then save the changes.

  6. Reopen the Studio process if necessary.

Notes:

Disabling this option means selectors will no longer be saved to the Object Repository unless done manually.

This setting is user-specific and applies to the current project opened in UiPath Studio.
