I need to delete a process from Orchestrator, but I’m unable to do so because the automation is still shown as running on the machine.
The automation has been running for more than a year, and I only noticed this issue now. Furthermore, this “machine” was sold six months ago, so I no longer have any access to it. I did keep the SSD, but I’ve formatted it multiple times since then, so there is no data left from the original machine.
Despite this, Orchestrator still shows the machine status as “Running” (most likely because I forgot to stop the automation and properly turn off the machine before it was sold). When I try to kill or stop the automation from Orchestrator, nothing happens.
For context, I’m using UiPath 2024.10 Community Edition, and I have administrator rights in Orchestrator.
How can I delete this automation? Or, if it’s not possible, should I consider creating a new account to resolve this?
Could this case be considered a bug?
I would suggest to raise this with the UiPath support team. They would be having access to the backend services to handle this situation. Recreating account would be the last option.
Try deleting or disabling the machine in Orchestrator. If that doesn’t work, the easiest solution is to create a new orches. account or tenant to start fresh.
Thanks everyone for your replies. I have some updates:
I don’t know how, but after three days the automation with the “Terminating” status disappeared.
@ashokkarale Thanks, that’s a good point. I was actually ready to contact the UiPath Support team today, but I noticed that the automation no longer exists. It seems UiPath might have a rule that if an automation remains in the “Terminating” status for more than N days, it is automatically removed.
@Darshan_Sable Thanks for your reply. Which API requests exactly did you have in mind? Because in the web Orchestrator, I no longer have any options available. When I clicked “Kill Job,” the status changed to “Terminating,” but it stayed like that for more than two days. On the third day, the automation was simply gone.
@prashant1603765 Thanks for your suggestion, but the machine no longer exists in Orchestrator (it doesn’t appear under the ‘Machines’ tab for my workspace). So I ended up in a situation where the machine was removed, but the job/automation was still shown as running.
