How to Configure the UiPath Official Feed as a NuGet Remote Repository in JFrog Artifactory?

Issue Description

Applies To

JFrog Artifactory (cloud/self-hosted) | UiPath Studio or UiPath Robot | NuGet CLI

UiPath Official Feed URL: https://pkgs.dev.azure.com/uipath/Public.Feeds/_packaging/UiPath-Official/nuget/v3/index.json

Overview

This article describes how to proxy the UiPath Official NuGet feed through JFrog Artifactory as a remote (proxy) repository. Once configured, UiPath Studio and NuGet CLI can resolve UiPath packages via your organization’s Artifactory instance, enabling caching, access control, and audit logging.

There is currently no official documentation from JFrog or UiPath that covers this specific configuration. This article fills that gap.

Prerequisites

• JFrog Artifactory administrator access

• UiPath Studio or UiPath Robot installed on the target machine

• NuGet CLI (nuget.exe) from download link on the UiPath Studio or UiPath Robot machine

• Network access from the Artifactory server to pkgs.dev.azure.com and *.blob.core.windows.net on port 443

Resolution

Part 1 - Create the Remote Repository in JFrog

Step 1 - Open the Repository Administration Page

Log in to your JFrog portal as an Administrator and navigate to:

https://ORG_NAME.jfrog.io/ui/admin/repositories

Click Create a Repository → choose Remote.

Step 2 – Select Package Type: NuGet

On the package type selection screen, choose NuGet.

Step 3 – Configure the Basic Settings

Fill in the following fields on the Basic configuration page:

Repository Key: YOUR_CUSTOM_JFROG_REPOSITORY_NAME

URL: https://pkgs.dev.azure.com/uipath/Public.Feeds/_packaging/UiPath-Official/nuget/v3/index.json

NuGet Download Context Path: uipath/Public.Feeds/_packaging/UiPath-Official

NuGet Feed Context Path: v3

NuGet v3 Feed URL: https://pkgs.dev.azure.com/uipath/Public.Feeds/_packaging/UiPath-Official/nuget/v3/index.json

Step 4 – Advanced Page

Review the Advanced settings. No changes are required for the default configuration.

Step 5 – Replications Page

No replication configuration is required for read-only proxy use.

Step 6 – Test the Connection

On the Basic page, click Test. You should see:

Successfully connected to server

Part 2 – Retrieve NuGet Configuration from JFrog

Step 7 – Open “Set Me Up”

In the repository list, click Set Me Up for your newly created repository.

Step 8 – Generate a Token

In the Set Me Up dialog:

  1. Select your repository from the list
  2. Under the Client select NuGet
  3. Under the Configure tab select Generate token
  4. Enter your JFrog account password
  5. Click on Generate Token & Create Instructions button

Step 9 – Copy the nuget.exe Command

After generating the token, JFrog displays the exact nuget.exe command to register the feed. Copy this command – it will contain your Artifactory URL, repository name, username, and generated token.

Part 3 – Configure NuGet on the UiPath Studio Machine

Step 10 – Download nuget.exe

Download nuget.exe from this link.

Step 11 – Register the JFrog Feed as a NuGet Source

Run the following command on the UiPath Studio machine (replace placeholders with your values):

nuget.exe sources Add -Name Artifactory2 -Source https://<Artifactory-URL>/artifactory/api/nuget/v3/YOUR_CUSTOM_JFROG_REPOSITORY_NAME/index.json -username <User> -password <Token>

Example:

Step 12 – Install a Package (Optional Verification)

To verify the feed is working, install a package. For example, to install UiPath.Form.Activities 25.10.1 along with its sub-dependencies:

nuget.exe install UiPath.Form.Activities -Version 25.10.1 -source Artifactory2 -nocache

Before executing the command, the JFrog repository cache is empty or doesn't have the tested package UiPath.Form.Activities.25.10.1 in its list.

After executing the command, the cache is populated with the package and its sub-dependencies:

Part 4 – Install Packages Directly from UiPath Studio

Once the feed is registered, you can manage packages directly from within UiPath Studio.

  1. Open your project in UiPath Studio
  2. Manage Packages
  3. Select the JFrog feed (e.g. Artifactory2) from the list
  4. Search for and install packages as normal

Note: The Artifactory2 feed will only appear in UiPath Studio after you have run the nuget.exe sources Add command on that machine.
