I’m working to get my RPA Developer Cert. and I’m stuck at a module. I can’t add a folder in the For Each File in Folder. There is no Folder Icon next to the ‘plus sign’ can anyone tell me what im doing wrong or how i can fix? i have the newer verison and the video instruction has the old version
In the newer Studio version, you don’t necessarily need the folder icon shown in the older training video.
In For Each File in Folder, click the + next to In folder, select Text, and enter the full folder path, for example C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Files. You can also use Open in Advanced Editor and provide the folder path as a string/variable.
So the activity is still working as expected — the UI has just changed compared with the older video.
Update the UiPath.System.Activities package to latest version and you will have that browse folder option to select the folder.
In the latest versions, the folder icon was removed from For Each File in Folder as part of the redesigned activity. Instead, you set the folder using the + (Plus) menu or the Browse button.
How to fix it
- Select the For Each File in Folder activity.
- In the In folder field, click the +.
- Choose Text if you’re typing a local path (e.g. C:\Users\YourName\Documents\Invoices), or click Browse to pick a folder from your

@Samuel_Olanipekun_Jr did you follow this
@Samuel_Olanipekun_Jr what’s the studio version this are using?
You’re likely using the newer UiPath version, where the activity UI has changed. Try clicking the plus (+) icon and select Browse for Folder (or the folder option) from there. The folder icon shown in the older video may no longer be available in the new version.
Yes. Since you are using the Community version, you are using the latest version of Studio and the System Activities package. The course was designed using the 2024.10 version, which is why you are seeing some differences.
You need to downgrade the UiPath.System.Activities package to a lower version.
Go to Manage Packages → select the UiPath.System.Activities package → select the version (Use 25.10.5) → click Update and then Save.
You will get the folder picker icon to select the folder.
Thanks!
Thank you so much! This worked for me.
