Please help, i have been going back and forth with this error…so i have created a project and it was running fine so now when i upload it onto the assistant trying to run it from there it gave me this error:
There is this net6.0-windows7.0 folder of which i think that could be the issue because all other projects running are using net45 and this one does not have it, so i went back to start afresh a new project and copied all the dependencies into the newly created project.
But nothing, we have recently updated our studio recently, could that be the cause as well?
The .net45 reference would refer to the Project created using Windows-Legacy and .net6.0-windows7.0 would be the projects created with Windows compatibility.
But if you have previously deployed the process created with Windows-Legacy, then it should still be there in the nuget folder.
But you have mentioned this, so we are not sure of the exact details of what has happened within your Environment.
Thank you for your response @supermanPunch,
Yes and i discovered that when i tested and i used windows legacy and it did create that .net45 folder and it ran.
We are using orchestrator 2020.10.9 and studio version 2023.4.4.
But I am just concern because yes for now i can use windows legacy but there is this message that says ‘Creation of nee Windows-legacy projects will be phased out in the near future’…
Because the error comes after I have deployed the solution to orchestrator and upload it onto UiPath assistant and running it from there, that is when i was using windows compatibility.
Not sure whether it’s the orchestrator that needs updating so it can easier to support the recent window compatibility projects, please advice.
So when i try to run it on the assistant i get the error complaining it cannot find the path of which that NET45 folder since i was using windows compatibility and also throws an error when i open the project in studio saying ‘invalid document’
Now can I please ask if there is some kind of a way to sort of copy my activities from windows compatibility project and into windows legacy newly created project
But i cant seem to copy the activities from windows to legacy, is there any other way i could copy besides also changing the compatibility on the .json file because that didn’t work.
I am thinking its a long project it will take a bit of a time to start from scratch
The conversion process can be done from Windows-Legacy to Windows but not from Windows to Windows-Legacy.
From this statement, we assume you had created the project initially using Windows-Legacy, Is it not the case ? If so, then you must also have the Legacy project available, as when a conversion is done, a copy is created of the same projected and then converted to Windows.
Since, you are using Orchestrator 20.10.x (Most likely On-Prem Licensed), you could raise a support ticket to UiPath, asking about this incompatibility which makes it unable to run the deployed Windows project in Assistant (If I got the situation correct).
As the compatibility matrix shows it to be compatible, we can ask on what is missing within your environment.
Could you perform a Last Check on this, Create a New Windows compatible project, a Simple Message Box process and Deploy it to Orchestrator and check if you are able to run it from Assistant or if the same error occurs.
Hello @supermanPunch
I did create a windows project but then it gives the same error. So now I started from scratch because i can’t copy as well. I wanted to ask how do i raise a ticket in UiPath for this?
@Anelisa_Bolosha ,
You can check the below link as it is also assumed that you are affiliated with an organization and you would need to use your org ID :
