That said, I’d suggest keeping things simple and using the browser interface instead of trying to replicate the session with HTTP requests. Hi @Guido_Bonanata Try to use the “Delete Row” activity but set the “PreserveFormatting” property to True. This will remove the data but retain the formatting. @ben.smith Yes, you can use Go To URL followed by Wait for Download if you already have the direct download link. As long as the browser session is authenticated and the file gets downloaded automatically when you navigate to that URL, the Wait for Download activity will still capture it properly. Just make sure you trigger the download in the same Use Browser scope where the session is active.

Introduction to agentic automation - Course reflection

I didn’t necessarily know what agentic automation was before starting. I’ve been an RPA developer for 5+ years now, but wanted to get on the forefront of the trend. After seeing “Agentic Automation” plastered all over my LinkedIn, I decided to go through the introduction course, and it was one of the simplest and easiest breakdowns to understand. Hi @mively There could be several reasons why this could happen. I can recall 2 reasons: If the Excel is running in the Background, but there is no visible UI. Solution: Introduce a Kill Process activity (To kill any Excel Process) before the Excel Process Scope. If the Excel abruptly Crashed in-between (during the Run). Solution: Use Try Catch to handle the exception and Retry. I would recommend restarting excel and studio. Then, Run the process again. See if it fails in the first run, or a…

Wait for download extensions to ignore not working

System Activities 24.10.7. The Wait for Download activity isn’t actually waiting. I put “tmp,crdownload” into the ignore extensions list and it still doesn’t wait. I noticed that Chrome is creating a temp file as “filename.pdf.crdownload” so I changed the ignore list to “tmp,crdownload,pdf.crdownload” and it still didn’t work. This is a real problem. How to connect UiPath Studio to SQLite .db file?

Thanks @loginerror, for the update; however this introduces a ODBC driver installation dependency, Can this dependency resolution be fixed so that it no longer relies on ODBC drivers or manual steps and instead leverages NuGet’s automated capabilities as it did in the UiPath “windows-legacy” projects? @pabaleloh Before sending the text remove the first 3 lines ..so in generate activity use string.join(environment.newline,rjsummaryoutput.split({environment.Newline},stringsplitoptions.none).skip(3)) so 3 lines are skipped from start and then use delimiter as semi colon and new line character as enter or newline Cheers

Convert Dictionary of any format to DataTable?

Hi @Jon_G, To be able to store different types of data in dictionary, kindly consider having a dictionary(string,object). Using object type as value would allow to hold different types of data and while retrieving data , you can have those converters back to the format you want like string or int etc. Regards Sonali

I’ve found that they’ve become relatively stable, however there are for sure some pitfalls and things you need to consider. Never rename your project after having coded workflows / source files and having them in templates just doesn’t really work properly (cause the project name changes). Always always make a constructor in a coded source file. If you don’t have a constructor in a coded source file they Studio can and will freak out at you at some point. Facing "Expression activity type 'VisualBasicValue1' requires compilation in order to run"

Team, I have found the solution for the issue. The issue is because of an element in the ‘Object Repository’. After i deleted the specific element which is duplicated in both my project repo and Ui Library repo this issue is resolved. Here the element in the Ui library repo is different from the project repo. This caused the issue here. I tried to add a different screen to the second screen, still got the same behavior. However even if that is how UiPath behaves, it would lead to a bigger issue: Let’s say I want to keep clicking a button until it disappears. I would add a click activity to a while loop and check the existence of the button at the end of the loop. The ‘CV Element Exists’ activity would be only used once. Set in_Arg default value based on Asset

Hey @simon.l You can’t use an Asset directly as a default value for an argument because the default field can’t run activities like Get Asset. That’s why you get the error - this logic only works at runtime. The approach you shared with an Assign and string.IsNullOrEmpty() is the right way to go. Any impact if we dont convert legacy workflows to Windows?

The main impact you will face is that at some point, you will be compelled to update to a version of UiPath Studio that has removed support for these workflows, in the meantime you will not be able to leverage new features as they will not be designed to have Windows-Legacy support. I strongly urge you to start migrating these processes, you need to do it at some point, its worth doing it as you go as you do any maintenance work on these projects and keep a list of them where you can do others …

How to specify hostname, account name and machine name in startjobs Body

The easiest way to get the info for this, in my opinion, is to get a job ready to trigger via the Ui in the Orchestrator, then open the console in chrome or your browser and go to the ‘Network’ tab and record the network traffic. You should be able to see the StartJobs api call that is made when you click the button and examine the body and figure out the syntax you need for the machine / robot etc I think.

@pd2897, I assume this is a desktop application. Can you confirm on which technology it’s developed? Try spying the popup through UI Explorer to find reliable selectors for INSTALL or CANCEL button. Use Check App state is the best practice. Don’t indicate the popup in Check app state, indicate a button or that New update available label from that popup.

Whats is the answer? And Why?

A better answer to this question would be to NOT use a Dictionary, instead making a class in a coded source file that can hold information about a Student, with properties for Name, School, Year, Birthdays etc, especially with the grades part which would get super messy in a Dictionary. In this context, the clue should be that a Key in a dictionary should be unique. If you try to use the same key several times, you will get an error.

Thank you! I’m not getting that error anymore, I did not add the tenant in the URL previously so I think that resolved the issue

@mohamed.saty2012, Can you show the dependencies from project panel? Looks like you got runtime dependencies instead of full package. Replace any package in your project with name contains runtime word with full version. Refer this article for more details on this

Unable to install Studio desktop in community edition in 2025, always StudioX getting installed
