Hi team,
Sharing some feedback after using StudioX 2025.10 for an Excel automation that
writes monthly reports to a SharePoint folder.
What I’m trying to do:
Read data from a source workbook, write to a template, save the result to a
SharePoint document library so my manager can open it from Teams.
What’s happening:
When I use “Use Excel File” pointed at a SharePoint-hosted file and run
“Write Range”, the conditional formatting and the pivot table style on the
destination sheet get stripped on save. Locally (same file on OneDrive) it works fine.
Steps to reproduce:
- Create a template.xlsx with a pivot table styled “Pivot Style Medium 9”
and conditional formatting on column D - Upload to a SharePoint document library
- In StudioX, “Use Excel File” → point to the SharePoint URL
- Write Range into Sheet1 starting at A2
- Save and reopen — pivot style is gone, conditional formatting rules removed
Expected:
Formatting should be preserved, same as the OneDrive/local behavior.
Workaround:
Currently downloading to local, writing, and re-uploading via “Move File” —
adds 30s per run and feels fragile.
Ask:
Would love to see SharePoint-hosted Excel treated the same as local for
formatting preservation. This is blocking us from rolling out 4 automations
to the finance team.
Thanks!
