Extract table does not activate Adobe's Content Preparation mode anymore

Hi all,

I found a strange behavior today, when trying to update one of my projects to the latest UiPath.UiAutomation.Activities in version 24.10.10.

Prior the project was using version 24.10.3 and when a pdf file was opened for reading and the table extract starts there was a small loading bar like this (sorry for being in German)

English something like that Hide the message Content Preparation Progress when opening a PDF file

With the versions above 24.10.3 this Loading information went away, and the table is not extractable anymore with the previous selectors.

When doing a new “Extract table wizard”, the data extracted with this, is malformed and not usable anymore.

Any help is appreciated.

what is the pdf…and why are you using ui activities to get the data from pdf?

Because it works/worked reliable without big effort.

It is a pdf with payment notices from a customer, which can have 3, 10 or 50 pages, and of course anything in between.

And I need every line.

Why should I not do so?

And this is not the question, the question is, why the content prep is not triggered anymore.

Because the same issue would happen anytime you get some updates as pdf are not to be used with ui…instead there are other ways

First time i would say you might be lucky also…but developing a process on luck will fail once luck fades

I got your question but UiPath is not triggering that its the application cum UiPath interaction thats triggering content prep…it might be that adobe also might have received updates…there are multiple reasons for it…and if you follow same way you might wndup with more problems than an easier way to get details

What would you propose to be used? Our company has no AI credits therefore DU will not work.

Just to give you a short idea, what the data looks like:

I had to blur, as it is sensitive data.

I definitely will open a ticket for the support, to get an answer from them concerning the activation of the content prep.

as of now without du and without a sample regex might be the way but need lot of conditions

also check if adobe settings have changes

Just to clarify the problem again. With UiAutomation.Activities 24.10.3 everything runs perfect, with 24.10.5+ not, the problem is not caused by an update at Adobe side.

I have an open ticket at UiPath support now. They will investigate. Let’s see what the result is.

@Anil_G and all other interested:

It is a confirmed bug with the current UIA package. As a workaround you have to disable security mode in Adobe Reader.

A fix for the issue is announced with UIA 25.2
