I’m trying to automate a process that needs to access network directories, but I want it to run in the background. The problem is that when the process is run in the background through Orchestrator, it starts under the LOCAL\_SERVICE user, unlike foreground runs, which use a different user. As a result, the automation can’t access the required network folders. Has anyone encountered a similar situation and managed to resolve it? How did you work around this limitation?

Hi @joao.melo

Background processes use the LOCAL\_SERVICE user, which does not have access to network folders. Use foreground execution or map the network drive with `net use` and credentials.
If this was helpful, please mark it as the solution. Thank you

@joao.melo

Welcome to the community

1. you can force to use user creds . Configuration specified below
2. Give access to netowrk folders to session 0 which generally would be a concern( So prefer first option)

To use credentials specified in Orchestrator, you need to configure the `UIPATH_HEADLESS_WITH_USER` system environment variable on the robot machine and set the value to `True` .
