Error while installing Uipath desktop studio community edition

I am not able to install UiPath desktop studio community edition. Getting this error. Please help

Hi @Nithya_Sankar,

It looks like you do not have a proper license to sign into Automation Cloud account using service url.

Try below steps:

  • Open your UiPath Orchestrator → Admin → Licenses → Users, find your account, and make sure it has both an Attended (or Unattended) and Automation Developer license assigned. If it’s unassigned, assign it and try Studio sign-in again.
  • In some cases, the organization’s robot provisioning is broken. Try creating a fresh organization in Orchestrator.
    Automation Suite - Creating or deleting organizations
  • Open UiPath Assistant, sign out, sign back in with the same Service URL, and check it shows “Connected”.

Cheers!

Hi @Nithya_Sankar ,
The error occurs because UiPath cannot find a robot license linked to your account in Orchestrator. Sign in with the correct Community account, ensure a Studio/Robot license is assigned, clear UiPath local settings, and reinstall/update UiPath if needed.

@Nithya_Sankar

This error is usually caused by your UiPath user not having the correct license assigned in Automation Cloud / Orchestrator.

You will have to - Create a new unattended robot or re-enable the existing one, if disabled.

I couldnt start the StudioX in my pc. On the sign in to get started, it says "could not find unattended robot for user key **** - Help / StudioX - UiPath Community Forum

Thanks. I am using a community plan. I dont see unattended robot license in the Users tab. Could you please help me to create that?

@Nithya_Sankar

This is the one

Okay. What should I do to enable that? Did I miss anything? I am using community plan only. License will be automatically allocated for community users. Right? Why I am not able to utilise that?

Hi @Nithya_Sankar

I think you wont find it there because unattended isnt a user license at all. Just checked on my own community tenant, when you edit the license allocation for a user the only options are Attended, Citizen Developer and Automation Developer, theres no unattended in that list. Unattended gets consumed by a machine/robot account, not by a person

so what i think is actually missing for you is the Attended - Named User, thats the one that enables the local robot for Studio and Assistant. Your screenshot shows only Automation Developer allocated, wich lets you open Studio but not run

try going to Admin, Licenses, License Allocations to Users, edit your user, pick Allocate to User and tick Attended - Named User along with Automation Developer, then sign out and back in on the Assistant

Not sure if thats what you are trying to do but hope it helps in the investigation as well :slight_smile:

@Nithya_Sankar my bad. Ignore previous answer from me.

Automation Developer - Named user is the correct license you need to assign to your user id.

Follow the steps explained in above comment by @Michael.Vornes

@Michael.Vornes Thank you so much. It worked
