Error "This Authentication method is not supported" thrown when authenticating after configuring SSO.

Issue Description:

After configuring the AAD SSO integration and signing in via SSO, the following error is encountered:

  • "Sign out and continue with Microsoft. This authentication method is not supported by your organization. Please sign out and sign back in using Microsoft to continue"

Resolution:

  1. Go to the Authentication Settings page which is found inside the Security Settings from the Admin panel and select all available methods since right now only authentication through Microsoft sign-in or Google sign-in is allowed. It should look like the below screenshot.
  2. The Azure Active Directory SSO option cannot be used when the basic authentication option under Automation Cloud > Admin > Security > Authentication Settings is set to "Microsoft sign-in"
  3. Currently, this behavior is by design - it is recommended using the default option (All available methods) for the local accounts.
